ahead of time below. You also have the bonus question. Please write two pages or more on each of

2. Describe George Lakey’s 5 Stages for Social Movements and discuss how these might be
used in the Occupy Movement and/or how they have been used in the Arab Spring Movements.

3. Clearly state the warning given to the world by Thomas Robert Malthus. How does demographic transition
theory respond to this warning? Provide data in the history of global population increase and indicate whether
or not you think it provides evidence that support Mathus’ view. What about democratic transition theory? Which
position do you find more convincing? Why?
